Our Journey in the field of woven fabric manufacturing started in 1977. The founders of the company being traditional handloom weavers themselves, with their expertise over time, mastered the art of producing woven fabrics with great quality at minimal lead time. With efficient management standards, well-experienced technical team and effective supply chain, we work towards achieving our goal without compromising on our mission.
Our founder, the man who planted the seed of our journey in the field of fabric manufacturing an inspiration for generations to come, the late Mr. R. Arthanari Chettiar started his career in 1958 as a handloom weaver producing Art Silk x Cotton fabrics.
The late, Mr. R. Arthanari Chettiar, began his career as a Handloom Weaver with a single Handloom machine In-house.
Undertook Job-work Orders from fabric suppliers and brings in 5 additional Handloom machines to meet the production demands.
Machinery updation by installing two Powerlooms in addition to the existing setup.
Complete modernisation by swapping all Handloom machines for Powerlooms to improvise the quality and production capacity.
Incorporation of the firm "M/S R. Arthanari Chettiar" to procure own fabric orders.
Mr. R.A Padmanaban, the current managing director of the firm, steps into the business administration along with his father.
Machinery expansion with additional installation of 4 Powerlooms, In-house Warping machine and Twisting machine.
Production expansion by outsourcing Job-Work orders to 50+ looms.
Market exploration by producing Viscose fabrics and 100% Cotton fabrics. (Yarn Dyed and Solid)
Became a prominent supplier in our Product Market by outsourcing Job orders to more than 100+ Powerloom weavers.
IMr. R.A Saravanan, brother of Mr. R.A Padmanaban steps into the business administration.
Installation of Yarn Manufacturing Unit "Sri Sowdeswari Mills Pvt. Ltd." with 6000 Spindle Capacity. It was later expanded to 16,000 Spindle capacity by 2007.
Incorporation of "RA Exports" and started woven fabric export to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Investment in PICANOL Shuttle-less looms and Vamatex Sectional Warping machine to produce woven fabrics at superior quality.
Incorporation of 2nd Yarn Manufacturing Unit "RA Mills Pvt. Ltd." with 8400 Spindle capacity.
Entry into the market of Yarn Dyeing with installation of 6 HTHP Vertical Dyeing machines and a production capacity of upto 1 Ton of Dyed Yarn / day.
2008 to 2014 - Yarn Dyeing Plant expansion with a capacity to produce upto 3 Tons of Dyed Yarn / day.
Fabric finishing unit installation with machines suitable for Desizing and Shed-Drying processes.
Upgrading the Chemical Treatment facilities at Yarn Dyeing plant to have Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals.
